Production of firewood usually centres around log splitting and chopping, and those logs are not always small and medium-sized. This is why you may need a more powerful wood splitting axe and the Husqvarna 2800S is just that. The axe is much heavier and powerful, coming in at 2800g and 70cm in length. Pair that with the axes balance point being close to the head and you have an axe that is not only powerful but, thanks to solid weight distribution, powerful with minimum effort.
The axe has a lightweight shaft too, which can also help with usability, improving handling and making it easier to exert force onto logs. Situated on the back of the axe head is a flat-faced hammer function that can be used with - non-steel - splitting wedges. Sometimes you can find that splitting wood is incredibly tough to break into and not the smoothest of tasks either - because of this, Husqvarna has implemented a special non-stick coating over the axe head, allowing ease of entry into the wood and less friction when splitting.
In terms of durability, the 2800S also has you covered. A stainless steel grip gives protection against wear and allows for much longer working life. On top of that, the PA shaft is fibre-reinforced to increase the level of durability and strength when sticking against logs.
